Dear Editor,
I was just in Dillon not long ago visiting relatives and friends. I happened to pick up and look through your newspaper and saw one of Mr. Jim Goings’ sons and read his article. I liked it because it took me way back.
In my previous article, I shared my intentions to present to you some excerpts from my forthcoming autobiographical book, “Growing Old in New Town,” that is scheduled to be released this fall.

Being originally from Dillon, I read your paper as often as I get a chance. I especially like reading some of the articles that are written by Preacher Goings.
Perhaps everyone needs some time of relaxing or lounging when they have nothing to do, but what they want to do (as long as it is not illegal, immoral, or intrudes upon the privacy and right of others). On this particular morning (the day of this writing), I fully intended to do just that.

Was talking to a friend about what’s going on in our country. Reading my out of town papers and looking at T.V., things to me are looking bad for the middle class American.
