Cooper Graduates From Basic Training

Army Pvt. Sharrick A. Cooper has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Cooper is the son of Debbie Fore of Dudley Road, Latta. He is a 2008 graduate of Marion High School.

McCrimmon Wins Art Competition

Jerrette McCrimmon of Wadesboro, N.C. was announced the first place winner in the first annual 2012 Treasures of Anson art contest at the 2nd Sunday Art Reception of the Anson County Arts Council held Aug. 12.
