Francis Marion University is pleased to announce the creation of the Premier Pledge scholarship program, a new initiative that underscores the university’s unwavering commitment to affordable and accessible education.
The Premier Pledge scholarship program is available to all admitted in-state students who are First Generation or fully-eligible Pell students. The financial support provided by this program, combined with other federal, state, and institutional assistance for which they already qualify, will cover all tuition costs their freshman year.
For decades, Francis Marion has been dedicated to educating the men and women of South Carolina while consistently addressing the financial challenges they face.
This new program represents the university’s ongoing commitment to ensuring all students have the ability to receive a quality comprehensive education.
FMU President Fred Carter emphasized this commitment.
“No other university in the state works harder at educating First Generation college students than we do, and no other university is as accomplished at providing a quality education at an affordable cost,” said Carter. “Everyone on this campus – at every level – works hard to accomplish this every single day.”
At Francis Marion, our priorities revolve around what matters most – offering a quality curriculum, managing college expenses sensibly, and fostering engagement with a dedicated faculty.
Creating innovative programs like the Premier Pledge scholarship program is a testament to the university’s enduring commitment to these core principles.
