The Help For Veterans Health and Information Fair is scheduled for Thursday, October 19 from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the City of Dillon Wellness Center, 1647 Commerce Drive, Dillon.
This will be an event open to the ENTIRE community, but with a special focus on veterans and veterans services. Veterans, vendors, and volunteers will be served a free chicken bog meal at the event. The general public may purchase a plate for a small fee.
A healthy community is a strong community, and we encourage everyone to come participate in the screenings and gather information to improve your health and wellness. There will be several vendors whose main focus is providing services to veterans, and we hope our veterans will turn out to gain an awareness of the services that are available to them in our area. Help For Veterans, Inc., of Dillon, was formed in 2016 to help provide various types of assistance to homeless and low-income veterans. Our mission is to provide assistance to homeless and low-income veterans through involvement with the local community and businesses as well as other government and national organizations. In addition, to help them obtain optimal levels of healthcare, education, and training that will enable the veterans to enter into society at a level the veterans have earned and deserve. There is no charge for vendors to participate in this event. For more information, contact Johnnie Daniels at jd@thedillonherald.com or call 843-230-4653.
