The Magnolia T. Williams Scholarship will award two $1,000 Scholarships for the academic year 2023-2024. Recipients of the scholarships are Cre’Asia Taylor and MaKayla Ellison, graduates of Dillon High School.
As a Dillon High School student, Cre’Asia Taylor was an honor student, and was also a member of the Anchor Club, Gospel Choir, Beyond Your BeauTea, Volleyball Team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Cre’Asia, affectionately known as “CeCe,” is the daughter of Angie Graves and Willie Taylor. She is currently a senior at Dillon High School with a GPA of 4.7 and will graduate within the top 10% of her graduating class. Cre’Asia is enrolled in honor courses, inducted in National Honor Society, as well as a member of the Anchor Club, and is also enrolled in dual enrollment courses at Northeastern Technical College, where she received her certification in Criminal Justice on May 11, 2023. Her future plans are to attend Winthrop University and major in Psychology. Her belief in God has motivated her to follow her dreams and unapologetically walk in the path that God has prepared for her.
Makayla Ellison, an honor graduate, was a member of Dance Dimensions and the Anchor Club. She was a mathematics tutor, dance instructor’s assistant and a monitor for middle and elementary schools’ field days.
Makayla Ellison planning to attend Furman University in the fall of 2023 to study neuroscience. Throughout my high school, she has made her faith, academics and extracurriculars, such as dance, clubs and volunteering, a great part of her life. Fortunately, she has utilized her talents to bring er to this point where she can pave the way towards a bright future. At the moment, she has an idea of becoming a neuroscientist and conducting as much research as she can. Although, it will be up to God what her path has in store for her.
The Magnolia T. Williams Scholarship was established in 2020 as a perpetual honor of legacy for Magnolia T. Williams, an educator for thirty years.
