Curtis Edward Kelley, 66, passed away, Friday, January 27, 2023, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the Main Street United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Curtis was born January 2, 1957 in Pineville, LA to the late William Franklin and Noreda Hughes Kelley. He joined the South Carolina Highway Patrol in 1978, where he was part of the Honor Guard and fitness team and received Trooper of the Year in 1988. After retiring from the Highway Patrol in 2003, he spent time as Airport Police at the Florence Regional Airport as well as ACE Hardware and the City of Dillon Wellness Center. He was an active member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the Sandhills Emmaus Community.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Dillon; daughter, Katie of Florence; brother, Elton (Becky) of Charleston; niece, Sarah of Middleboro, MA; nephew, Marcus (Takako) of Charleston; sister-in-law Elizabeth Haun of Florence, and uncle Donnie Kelley of Pensacola, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Dillon Humane Society, Marlboro Humane Society, and Main Street United Methodist Church.
