The old Rownd and Son basket factory was destroyed by fire on Thursday, Sept. 29.
City of Dillon Fire Chief Keith Bailey said people were cleaning up around the building on Thursday morning and said when they came back from lunch it was burning.
Bailey said the building had no power.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Chief Bailey said they put around 250,000 gallons of water on it to extinguish the fire.
The responding departments were the City of Dillon Fire Department and Dillon County Station One was called a mutual aid to assist the city. There were no injuries.
