Fairmeadow Senior Apartments in Latta and Breckenridge Senior Apartments in McColl had its Annual Fire Safety Meeting on August 16th and 17th.
Terry and Linda Weichel from the Dillon County Fire and Rescue were the guest speakers. Mr. Terry spoke about how he became involved in The Oak Grove Fire Dept as a volunteer mechanic.
He went through the academy and became certified in his early 60s. He is currently 81 years old and gave great encouragement to the residence about staying active in your community and looking out for your neighbor as well as the safety of yourself.
A Fire Safety Booklet was given out to all attendants and lunch was provided to both properties.
