On Saturday, May 7th at 6:30 p.m., twenty-two young ladies in grades 9th through 12th competed in the 2022 Miss Viking Pageant.
Each girl took part in individual interviews, a Future Career wear category where they dressed in outfits according to their aspiring future careers, and an Evening gown category.
Miss Viking 2018, Lea Foster Khalil helped emcee the pageant along with the pageant director, Ms. Jodie Peele (Branham).
Entertainment was provided by violinist Gavril Tiburcio who serenaded the audience with two musical selections of Bach and Mozart and members of the Viking Theater Workshop performed “Luck Be a Lady” from their Guys and Dolls, Jr. production.
At the end of the night, four girls were crowned from each grade level and one young lady was crowned the overall winner.
Janie Ruth Nolan was crowned Miss Freshman with first runner-up going to Katelyn Shelley Johnson; Rylyn Marie Marsh was crowned Miss Sophomore with first runner-up going to Briley Jade Bryson; Ava Katelynn Rogers was crowned Miss Junior with first runner-up going to Nikki Ann Weatherford; Brenna She’ Miller was crowned Miss Senior with first runner-up going to Kaitlynn Ronni Watson. Miss Congeniality was awarded to Brenna She’ Miller and the Overall Interview Winner was Janie Ruth Nolan.
Miss Sophie Belle Haselden, a freshman at Latta High School, took home the overall crowning as Miss Viking 2022.
