The Latta Middle School Academic Challenge Team, 2021-2022 Pee Dee Division II Champions, performed well at the Academic Challenge State Competition in Camden on Friday, March 25, 2022.
The team faced Springfield Middle School in the semi-final match and won with a final score of 37 to 25. Then, the team advanced to the final match against Edgewood Middle School. Unfortunately, the LMS Vikings lost by only four points with a final score of 33 to 29. This team experienced a phenomenal season, being undefeated until this point. The LMS Vikings also acquired 478 points throughout the season, meaning the team answered 478 questions correctly! Coaches Cristin Langley Britt and Paula Williamson are extremely proud of the team and can’t wait to see what the returning members do next year!
