The Kingsmen Quartet led services at Mount Calvary Baptist Church on Sunday, February 13, at the 6:00 p.m. service.
Mount Calvary Pastor Harold Cooke opened the services with prayer. Brief announcements were made followed by congregational singing led by Choir Director Gene Tanner.
Pastor Cooke introduced the Kingsmen Quartet who sang Southern Gospel Music and presented the Word to those in attendance.
The Kingsmen Quartet began in 1956. Since that time, The Kingsmen Quartet has enjoyed tremendous success in gospel music.
The group was introduced individually including the CEO and 2008 Hall of Fame inductee, Ray Dean Reese who has been with the group for 55 years. He sings bass. In May he will celebrate his 83rd birthday. Chris Bryant is not only the lead singer but he also is a song writer. Alan Kendall has been with the group for 3 1/2 years. He is the Barotone singer. Last, but not least, is Chris Jenkins. Brandon Reese is the road manager and sound man for The Kingsmen Quartet.
The group performed many songs, old and new ones, to the delight of everyone.
The Kingsmen Quartet’s goal is to see people saved through Jesus Christ.
Ater the singing and the Word, an invitation was given.
