The Fairmont Golden Tornadoes picked up a 67-43 win over the Lake View Wild Gators varsity boys team on Wednesday, December 15, at the Robeson County Shoot-out.
The score was knotted at 14 after the first period of play but Lake View came up 15 points short by halftime, 36-21. After 3 periods of play, the Golden Tornadoes held a 46-33 lead.
Fairmont’s Khalil Alford connected for five 2-point baskets, two 3-point baskets, and 2 free throws to lead all scorers with 18 points. Savante McKeithan connected for 11 points by hitting three 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 2 points from the charity line. Ty’rus Morris also had 11 points by sinking four 2-point baskets and 3 free throws. Walker Chavis had two 2-point baskets and a 3-point basket for 7 points. Camron Sweat had four points on two 2-point baskets. Landen Cummings sank a 3-point basket. Jaiden Blue had a 2-point basket and a free throw for 3 points. Jacob Hunt, Elijah Meekins, and Gabriel Washington each connected for a 2-point basket.
Lake View committed 10 fouls in the first half and 8 fouls in the second half while Fairmont committed 10 fouls in each half.
Lake View traveled to Green Sea Floyds on Tuesday, January 4.
