Alton W. McDaniel, 75, went home to be with his Lord peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021 with his family by his side.
Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Kentyre Presbyterian Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Born in Dillon County, SC, August 10, 1945, he was the son of the late Alphonso McDaniel and Lucy Currin McDaniel.
He was a lifelong member of Kentyre Presbyterian Church where he was a former Deacon, Elder and Sunday school teacher.
He was retired from Progress Energy after 38 years of service, was a Master Mason for over 50 years and a member of the Mackey Lodge #77.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Cathy W. McDaniel of Hamer; sisters, Ann McDaniel Brumbles (Bobby) and Debbie McDaniel Hill (Gene); sons, Robbie McDaniel (Sheila) of Latta, Andy McDaniel (Caroline) of Florence, and Richard McDaniel of Marion; grandchildren, Kimberly Elvington, Beth and Allie McDaniel, Drew (Margaret) McDaniel, Josh McDaniel (Hayley), Joe McDaniel, Little Andi McDaniel, Sophie McDaniel, Amelia McDaniel, Jonathan and Duncan McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Graham, and Karson, and Elizabeth George; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Austin McDaniel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mackey Lodge #77, 111 South 3rd Avenue, Dillon, SC 29536.
Due to COVID-19, and CDC guidelines, social distancing must be practiced, and facial coverings are suggested.
