The Lake View Lady Wild Gators came into Dillon on Wednesday, September 30, and took control of the first set in varsity volleyball and handed Dillon a 25-19 loss. However, the roaring Lady Wildcats turned up their game and took the next 3 sets in a row to pick up a 3-1 win over the visitors.
The scores were 25-19, 25-14, 25-13, and 25-17.
Dillon’s Takoya Nelson dominated the net last night and was Dillon’s leading front row player with the most “kills” and “blocks”.
Jayla Goodwin was also a key front-row player last night. Last night was her first night back on the court from a knee injury and made big key plays at just the right time to help the Lady Wildcats rally back and finish with a win.
The Lady ‘Cats’ Abby Bristow led the team with “serves” and “assists”.
Lexie Rogers and Logan Grice were significant defensive players all night in the action against Lake View.
Dillon will travel to Waccamaw tonight at 7:00 p.m. for varsity volleyball action.
