Cole Sweat is a senior at Lake View High School and a second year Auto Technology student at Dillon County Technology Center.
Cole has won the first round of the ASE Automotive competition and will compete in round two that will be held on February 20, 2020 at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC. Cole is one of the top twelve students out of twenty-five in the state to make it to the second round.
Round 2 of the competition will be hands on and will consist of eight (8) areas: Engine Repair, Auto Transmission, Manual Drive Train, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical/Electrical Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, and Engine Performance. The winner of the competition will then move on to the National Automotive Technology Competition on April 13 – April 15, 2020 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, New York.
As a second-year student Cole has taken and pass seven (7) of the ten (10) National ASE Certifications. After graduation Cole plans to attend Florence-Darlington and major in the Auto Repair Technician Program.
