A Raleigh, NC man was killed in a wreck on Highway 38 in Latta on February 19th, according to S.C. Trooper Sonny Collins.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the man as Peter Joseph Lowsky, age 50, of Raleigh, NC. He said he died of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Collins said the wreck occurred on February 19 at 4:15 p.m. on S.C. Highway 38 near Meggs Island Road.
An 18-wheeler was traveling east on S.C. Highway 38 when he struck a van that was pulled over on the shoulder of the road and pulled back onto the road in front of the 18 wheeler.
The driver of the van, Lowsky, was killed. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
No charges are expected to be filed in this case.
The wreck remains under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
