The Dillon Christian School Warriors returned home from Marion on Tuesday, March 25, after suffering a 14-6 loss in varsity baseball.
The Warriors placed scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning. However, Marion responded in the bottom of the first inning with 3 runs of their own. Dillon Christian School added a run in the top of the third inning to cut the lead to 1 run. However, Marion sent 3 runs across home plate in the bottom of the third inning. The Warriors added 2 runs in the top of the fourth inning that were answered with 6 runs by Marion in the bottom of the fourth inning. In the top of the fifth inning, Dillon Christian School sent 2 runners across home plate. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Swamp Foxes also sent 2 runners across home plate.
Marion connected for 12 hits in the game while holding Dillon Christian School to 7 hits.
Marion’s John Reed connected 2 doubles and 3 rbi in 3 at-bats. Don Britt had 2 singles and 3 rbi in his 3 at-bats for the Swamp Foxes. Qua’liek Crawford picked up a rbi and a single in 2 at-bats. Teric Reaves had a triple and a single in 3 at-bats.
Dillon Christian School’s Cooper Lane connected for a double, a single, and 2 rbi in his 3 at-bats. Austin Heasley had 2 hits and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Jared Darmon had a hit in his 2 at-bats.
Jakobe Sims picked up the win. He pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed 2 hits, 1 earned run, walked 1, and struck out 1.
Trent Johnson was charged with the loss. He pitched 0.1 inning and allowed 3 hits, 3 earned runs, walked 1, and struck out no one.
Dillon Christian School will host Kings Academy on Friday, March 29, at 5:00 p.m.
