Jeanne McClure Moody, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 16, 2019 at McLeod Medical Center of Dillon surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Henry Altman, Rev. Earl Ogburn and Rev. Mike Rouse officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in Asbury Hall at the church. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
Mrs. Moody was born in Manhattan, Kansas, June 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Ulis Vaughn McClure and Stella Bach McClure. Jeanne met her husband Cecil at Fort Riley, Kansas Army Base, married and returned to South Carolina with him.
She retired in June 1982, after twenty-five years with Carolina Pipeline Company now SCE&G. Jeanne and her husband enjoyed life at the beach, playing BINGO, golfing and fishing in Murrells Inlet. Mrs. Moody was a faithful and active member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the Marvin Rast Class.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Moody; son, Kim Ivan Moody; brothers, Dwight McClure and Paul McClure; and sister, Janet Anderson.
Jeanne is survived by her son, Dana Mac Moody and his wife, Margaret of Dillon, SC; three grandchildren, Jamie Moody of St. Augustine, FL, Dana Ogburn (Earl) of Chester, SC and Meg Crumpler (Jason) of Greenville, SC; five great-grandchildren, Mason Moody, Whit Crumpler, Hawk Ogburn, Jake Crumpler, and Tatum Ogburn; one sister, Ilene Colbert of Manhattan, KS; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and special friend and prayer partner, Virgie Peppers of Dillon, SC.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 229, Dillon, SC 29536.
