The Dillon Christian School Warriors dropped a 9-3 varsity baseball game to the visiting Williamsburg Academy Stallions in Dillon on Friday, March 15.
The Warriors placed a run on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. The Stallions responded with 5 runs in the top of the second inning and held the Warriors scoreless for 2 innings. However, in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Warriors managed to get a run across home plate to cut the lead to 3 runs. In the top of the sixth inning, the Stallions raced across home plate with 4 more runs taking a commanding 9-2 lead. The Warriors fought back and placed another run on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Williamsburg Academy’s Colby Newton went connected for 2 doubles and 3 rbi in his 3 at-bats while teammate E. J. Muldrow connected for a single, a double, and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats. Carson Collins also picked up a rbi and 2 hits in his 4 at-bats.
Jared Dorman had 2 singles, a double, and a rbi for Dillon Christian School. Daniel Camp had 2 singles in his 4 at-bats. Gage Hunt had a double and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. John Rourke had a double in his 3 at-bats.
Joe Kellahan was credited with the win. He pitched 3 innings and allowed 3 hits, an earned run, walked 2, and struck out 1.
Daniel Camp was charged with the loss.
He pitched 1 inning and allowed 1 hit, 5 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 1.
Dillon Christian School committed 4 errors in the game while Williamsburg Academy did not commit any errors.
