The Dillon City Council passed a resolution at their January meeting honoring the 2018 Dillon High School varsity football team.
The resolution stated the following:

A RESOLUTION HONORING THE 2018 DILLON HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM
WHEREAS, The Dillon High School Varsity Football Team has brought honor upon the City of Dillon, and its citizens, and
WHEREAS, the Dillon Wildcats coached by Jackie Hayes and valuable assistant coaches, and
WHEREAS, the Dillon Wildcats once again provided exciting football to its fans by going 12-1 during the season, and
WHEREAS, the Dillon Wildcats defeated Wade Hampton in the 2018 3-A Lower State Championship and earned the right to play in the 2018 3-A State Championship,
and
WHEREAS, The Dillon Wildcats played Chester High School in the 2018 3-A State Football Championship on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Dillon, South Carolina, that all citizens of Dillon be apprised of these accomplishments and encouraged to take note of this special occasion.
