Audrey Hunt, and Mrs. Kathy Mitchell brought the “Mall” and “Winter In The Park” to the children at Lake View Elementary School for their enjoyment and cultural enrichment.
For the past three years, this group has brought something special to the children to enjoy at Christmas time.
The first year’s theme was a fireplace with a rocking chair with someone reading a Christmas story to the children.
The second year’s theme was an “Old Country Scene.”
Mr. Hunt is the Guidance Counselor at Lake View Elementary School, and Mrs. Hunt is employed at the Dillon Middle School.
Most nearly all of the decorations in this year’s scene is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Hunt.
This group of three people gave 55 hours of their time to make possible this event for the children, some who have never seen or possibly who will never see anything like this.
This scenery will be on display until the last day of school before the holidays. Parents, grandparents, and other relatives are invited to come to the school on Wednesday, December 12, and tour the scenery with their children. Afterwards, there will be refreshments in the Media Center. Also, while at the school also visit the School’s Library for more decorations made possible by Mrs. Eula Page, the school librarian; and Mrs. Eleanor Bethea, the school librarian’s assistant.
