The Main Street United Methodist Church Men’s Group are very busy with their Ramp Project as always.
However, at this time of the year they devote themselves to preparing food baskets for those less fortunate.
This year 62 families from Dillon, Latta, and Lake View will benefit from between $9,000.00 and $10,000.00 donated food, blankets, and Bibles for children, teenagers, and adults.
Each family will receive canned goods, a turkey, food staples, a blanket, a Bible, and a prayer card.
Ronnie “Catfish” Carter, project coordinator, stated that preparation for this Saturday, December 22, began some time ago. Today, this event has grown so much that the entire church helps prepare the baskets and distribution is done on this day.
Carter expressed his thanks for the donations and the volunteers. He also thanked the local chapter of the Gideons International for the Bibles. Main Street United Methodist Church is located at 401 Main Street, Dillon.
