Dr. William R. (Dickie) and Dianne Cullum were honored at a Retirement Reception hosted by First Baptist Church on October 28, 2018.
Dr. Cullum, or Pastor Dickie, has served as the Senior Pastor at the Church for the past 23 years. His retirement comes after 33 years in the ministry.
Members of the Church, former members, and friends were in attendance. The Cullums two children were also present for this special occasion. Dr. Matt Cullum, Tamara (Scott), and two children live in Pawley’s Island where he is a chiropractor. Allison Foreman, Robbie, and three children live in Moncks Corner; Robbie is a pastor at Freedom Church in Moncks Corner.
The reception was held in the Church Fellowship Hall. There were displays from the past 23 years, as well as delicious food. This time of fellowship included the sharing of memories, laughter, and tears. Special presentations of appreciation were given by the Church, the Personnel Committee, the Choir, and friends.
Pastor Dickie began his ministry at Corinth Baptist Church in Holly Hill; he next served as Pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church in Lexington. Pastor Dickie began his service as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church Dillon on April 9, 1995. Dianne taught at Dillon Christian School for 21 years and retired in May 2016. During their 23 years of service, Pastor Dickie and Dianne have become a loved couple both at First Baptist Church and in the community. They will be greatly missed!
Pastor Dickie and Dianne both look forward to retirement; however, they feel sadness at leaving “home.” They will now be residing in Myrtle Beach. We know Pastor Dickie will be working on his golf game while Dianne will have the pleasure of making room for their accumulations over the years. Happy Retirement to the Cullums!
