People are busy making final pre-storm preparations as Hurricane Florence nears the east coast.
Bread, water, batteries, and other essential supplies have been flying off the shelves as people prepare for a serious multi-day storm with high winds and heavy rainfall expected.
Business owners were boarding up their businesses and placing sandbags in hoping to stop the wind and rain threats from entering. Homeowners could also be seen making various preparations.
Shelters have been opened at Dillon Middle School, the old Latimer School in Latta, and Lake View High School. The Town of Latta and Lake View have set curfews of 7:00 p.m. should the power go out. The City of Dillon has also announced a curfew. The City of Dillon will be under a curfew beginning Friday night, September 14th from 8:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning and Saturday night, September 15th from 8:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
At the time of this writing at 11:45 a.m., there is still time to make some preparations or to head to shelters.
