The Lake View Lady Wild Gators upset the number one-ranked East Clarendon 62-57 in varsity girls basketball action played in Lake View on Friday, February 2.
East Clarendon held an 18-13 lead over Lake View at the end of the first period of play. At halftime, East Clarendon held a 33-22 lead over Lake View.
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators made 12 points to East Clarendon’s 13 in the third period.
Lake View scored big in the final period of play outscoring East Clarendon 28-11 to claim the win.
Janiyah Waters scored a game-high 21 points followed by Olivia McDaniel who added 18 points in the win for Lake View.
Tankashia Wheeler connected for 8 points for the Wild Gators while Milashia Wheeler managed 6 points. Zaandaisia McNeil hit for 5 points, and Kasi Page and Tatianna Blue each garnered 2 points.
Talaysia Cooper put 17 on the scoreboard for East Clarendon before fouling out with 4 minutes left in the game.
Valincia Garris added 13 point, and Gracen Watts placed 11 on the scoreboard. Caitlin Timmons connected for 10 points while Whack, Floyd, and Anderson each garnered 2 points.
Lake View played Creek Bridge on Monday, February 5. The Lake View Lady Wild Gators will travel to Creek Bridge today, Tuesday, February 6.
