The Jr. division squad of Dillon County shooters came in 2nd place in the 4-H /SCTP trap competition held at The Palmetto Shooting Complex in Edgefield, SC on January 13, 2018. The squad consisted of Joshua Williams, Gately Bethea and Noah Williams. The Junior division is for shooters in the 9th and 10th grades. Their total score was 99 out of a possible 150. This was the only squad from Dillon County 4-H to attend.
First Place went to the team from Rocky Knoll with a team score of 115 and third went to the “One More Shot” team. Their score was 97. A squad is made up of three shooters and each shooter gets a chance at 50 targets each.
In the Sr Division, Tangie McFee from Latta shot with a team from Mid Carolina and her squad came in 2nd Place while her brother, Rich McFee, also shot with a Mid Carolina squad and they came in 3rd place.
Dillon County 4-H would like to recognize South Carolina Friends of the NRA for a grant that provided 60 cases of shotgun shells and a pallet of clay targets for practice.
