Services for William Carl “Billy’ Shelley, Jr. will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Catfish Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Shelley, 74, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon.
Born in Marion County, SC, August 23, 1943, he was the son of the late William Carl Shelley, Sr. and Martha Estelle Stewart Shelley. He was a Farmer, and a Manager at a Farm Equipment Store.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Shirley Cox Shelley of Sellers; children, Connie (Ricky) Lane of Latta, Billie Jean (Johnny Mac) Lane of Bennettsville, 1SG(R) William Carl Shelley, III (Sara) of Latta, Tammie Shelley Turner of Mullins, and Clarence Shelley of Latta; sisters, Martha Jean Coleman of Latta, and Peggy (Willie) Matthews of Campobello, SC; grandchildren, Donnie Stewart, Shonna, Jeffrey, Ashley, Sarah Catherine, Jessica, Will, William IV, Steven, Caroline, Gordon, McKenzie, Lexie, Asher, and Makinley; great-grandchildren, Avery, Holly Belle, Anzleigh, Blakely, Saylor, and Rowen.
Mr. Shelley was preceded in death by his grandchild, Shonna Turner Robinette.
