Dillon County was spared from damage from Hurricane Irma. Disaster Preparedness Director Moses Heyward said that there was no damage in Dillon County. He said some of the municipalities may be eligible for reimbursement due to hurricane preparations.
Dillon County experienced a heavy traffic volume on Tuesday due to traffic coming off the interstate heading towards Georgia and Florida. It was reported that at times there was traffic backed up going into Latta.
