The Magnolia Garden Club of Latta once again plans an interesting and involved year of programs and activities with the first meeting on September 7. Our award winning floral artist Dollie Rice will engage members in Victorian flower pressing for the first half of the year, and other related programs will follow thereafter.
Dollie has already had two meetings with members during the summer to begin their process of flower pressing. Once flowers are in the press, it takes two months before one can begin their own artistic creation. Completed floral art work will be on display at Abingdon Manor for the annual Christmas Home Tour on December 9.
Programs throughout the year will address the National Garden Club theme of “Plant America”; South Atlantic Region theme of “The Beauty of Nature: Protect, Preserve, Enjoy”; The Garden club of South Carolina, Inc. theme of “Birds of a Feather Garden Together!”; and the Coastal District theme of “Nature Inspires – Preserve It”.
