A man was found dead in a home on Applejack Loop, and deputies are treating it as a homicide, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identifies the deceased as Anthony Barney Dickerson, Jr., a 40-year-old black male from Dillon County.
On Sunday, August 6, 2017 just before 2:30 p.m. the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and Dillon County EMS was dispatched to a residence on Applejack Loop in Dillon in reference to an individual found inside the home unresponsive. The individual was checked for signs of life by EMS, and the individual was deceased and the Dillon County Coroner was dispatched to the scene. According to an incident report by Deputy Ricky Day, a male victim was located inside the residence by a family member. The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are treating the death as a homicide. SLED Crime Scene assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene. The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and Dillon County Coroner’s Office are investigating the case. SLED is assisting.
