The first week in June, beginning with Sunday, is proclaimed “NATIONAL GARDEN WEEK.” This is a special week in which public attention is focused on the role of garden clubs in communities across the country. To celebrate and honor National Garden Week, June 4 – 10, 2017, the Glove and Trowel Garden Club placed an arrangement of white miniature carnations and purple daisies in the Dunbar Memorial Library, now Dillon County Library Main Branch, located at 600 East Main Street in Dillon. The arrangement was prepared and presented by club member, Amy McColl. The Glove and Trowel Garden Club, organized in January of 1953, is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., the South Atlantic Region, The Garden Club of South Carolina, Inc., and the Coastal District of the GCSC.
