The Pilot Club of Dillon met on Thursday, May 25, 2017 @ 6:30 pm at the new residence of Chris Harris.
9 members were in attendance.
President Dorothy Stephens began the meeting by welcoming all members and thanking Chris for allowing the meeting to be held at her home.
All members then stood and recited the pledges to the United States & South Carolina flags.
Chaplain Millie Stanton then gave the devotion and prayer for the meeting. She spoke on Psalm 23 and how the Lord gives strength in trying times. She also spoke on the importance of knowing the Lord and encouraged each of the members to be certain of salvation. She then gave the blessing for the refreshments.
The refreshments were prepared by Jamie Sue Stephens. She prepared baked potatoes with several sides. Chili, butter, sour cream and bacon were provided. Ham and cheese Hawaiian sandwiches and a delicious ice cream delight were also available.
After refreshments, the secretary’s report was read by Melissa Moody and Jamie Sue Stephens dispersed the newsletters to each member. The treasurer’s report was read by Francis Shillingburg and the current budget was approved.
A nominating committee was formed. Chris Harris, Julie Hatcher and Jamie Sue Stephens formed this committee. The officers for the upcoming year are: Johnnie Luehrs-President, Julie Hatcher-President Elect, Melissa Moody-Secretary, Francis Shillingburg-Treasurer, and Millie Stanton-Chaplain.
The 2017-2018 division coordinators and division members were arranged and the plans of work for this year were revised.
The mystery gift and St. Jude monies were collected. Jamie Sue Stephens and Melissa Moody won the mystery gifts.
The meeting was then adjourned. The Pilot Club will meet on June 22, 2017 at the City of Dillon Fire Department for the Senior Supper.
The Pilot Club of Dillon is a non-profit organization that focuses on brain related activities such as Alzheimer’s disease, chemical dependency & traumatic brain injuries, as well as, developmental and mental disabilities.
