THE INITIAL MEETING of the City of Dillon’s new Downtown Revitalization Committee was held recently. Mayor Todd Davis said downtown revitalization has been an issue of his since coming into office. He has focused on it the past 12 months, but they had a setback due to the hurricane. He discussed what he would like to see the committee achieve. He said this committee would set forth a plan. He hopes to “stop the bleeding” on Main Street.
Committee members include Jonathan McLeod, Steve Johnson, Sally McIntyre, Dr. Robert Hooker, Michelle Britt, Vernoy McTeer, Lynne Carr, Rhett Thompkins, Howard Nettles, Jackie Thomas, Stephanie Mitchell, Roger Sloan, and Allen Watts. There was discussion among the committee members about Main Street and various ideas. Davis said he was going to need the committee to be active and involved and to make decisions.
