The Dillon County Council passed a resolution at their meeting on Wednesday to abandon Farley Drive. Farley Drive runs north from State Road S-423 (W. Fairfield Road), traverses lands of Dillon Property Holdings, LLC, and terminates at a parcel of land belonging to Dillon County.
The resolution states that Dillon County is in the process of negotiating an Incentive Agreement by and between Dillon County and Project Badger to provide for the expansion of Project Badger in Dillon County.
The Incentive Agreement will provide for the conveyance of certain property to Project Badger and a portion of the property to be conveyed contains a county dirt road known as “Farley Drive” so that it is necessary that it be abandoned.
The resolution also states that the road will be relocated and will tie into a road known as “Industrial Drive” so that no person or entity will be denied public access to property.
The motion to close Farley Drive was made by Councilman T.F “Buzzy” Finklea, Jr., which was seconded by Councilman Jack Scott. The motion was approved.
