The Latta Vikings varsity football team defeated Carvers Bay in a close game 27-20.
At halftime Latta led 13-8.
Latta’s Dylan Brewer completed 17 of 31 passes for 322 yards and 3 touchdowns.  He threw one interception in the game.
The Vikings were led by Kendall Moultrie with 7 catches for 195 yards and 1 touchdown wile Devonta Porter pulled in 5 passes for 58 yards and 1 touchdown.  Deonta Stanley added 3 more catches for 45 yards and 1 touchdown to the Latta total.
Ontario McClellan rushed for 24 yards on 9 carries, and Jamarcus Legette picked up 20 yards and 1 touchdown on 2 carries for the Vikings.
Devonta Porter and Mikey Dotson each had 11 tackles while Chandler Nolan added 8 tackles and 1 sack in the win for the Vikings. Kendall Moultrie added 7 tackles, and Dylan Carter had 6 tackles and 1 sack.
Trey Manning, Deonta Stanley, and Trey Anderson each had 5 tackles for the Vikings.
Justin Hall, Jamarcus Legette, Hayden Graham, and Brandon Hayes each contributed 4 tackles while Jalen Gomillion had 2 in Latta’s victory.
Latta is 5-3 for the season but more importantly is 3-1 in Region 7-2A.
The Vikings will travel to Marion on Friday, November 4.  Game time will be 7:30 p.m.
