The local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) would like to invite the citizens of Dillon to a piano concert at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, at Main Street United Methodist Church Sanctuary. Mrs. Larisa Taber, featured pianist, is an accomplished artist. This concert is in memory of her mother-in-law, Mrs. Maxine Taber. The public is invited to this free concert.
Bio of Larisa Taber: Larisa was born in Krasnodar, Russia. In 1980, she completed her Master’s Degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude in piano performance at the Rostov State Conservatory named after S.V. Rachmaninov, Rostov-on-Don, Russia. The Moscow Musical Review Board certified Larisa as a concert pianist, soloist of chamber orchestra, and concertmeister.
After graduation, Larisa worked at the Conservatory and was appointed head concertmeister staff of voice faculty. She represented students of the Conservatory of Russian Federation Competitions (piano and voice) and at Gala Concerts in Novosibirsk, Omsk, Perm, Sverdlovsk, Saratov (Russia) and Erevan (Armenia). Larisa’s Conservatory graduate students work in Boshoi Theater, Moscow, Marinsky Theater, Saint Petersburg, Russian, and Soloists of the Musical Theater, Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
Larisa worked as a pianist in orchestra throughout Poland. She performed in Queens, New York. As a piano soloist, Larisa played with the Prince William County Symphony Orchestra at Hilton Performing Arts Center, George Mason University. Larisa continues to perform as a concert pianist. Her repertoire includes music from Baroque to Contemporary.
In Alexandria Music Company, Alexandria, Virginia, Larisa gives piano lessons to children and adults of all levels. She provides education in musical theory, harmony, and the history of music.
Several of Larisa’s graduate students have been accepted to the University of Colorado, George Mason University, and Virginia Commonwealth University for major in piano performance.
