As evidence of the high quality of care provided at McLeod Medical Center Dillon, multiple patient care awards have been recently awarded to the medical center.  
McLeod Dillon was presented with five of the South Carolina Certified Zero Harm Awards in September, 2016 during the 36th Annual SCMA/SCHA TAP Conference for sustaining zero harm in Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections, Surgical Site Infections During Abdominal Hysterectomies, Surgical Site Infections During Hip Replacement Surgeries, Surgical Site Infections During Knee Replacement Surgeries and Surgical Site Infections during Colon Surgery.  These recognitions are given when a hospital reaches the milestone of zero infections within a defined, consecutive period. The infection data is independently verified by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). In total, McLeod Health facilities received twenty-three Zero Harm awards.
The award is part of the SC Hospital Association’s efforts to guide and support the state’s hospitals in creating and sustaining highly reliable health care—meaning patient care that is dependable, high quality, and safe over a long period of time, similar to results achieved by other high-consequence industries such as aviation and nuclear power.
