Following the devastation of Hurricane Matthew this past weekend, volunteers came out in droves to help those in affected areas recover.  Whether it’s taking donations, providing a hot meal, bottled water, boxes of food or clearing debris, youth groups from North and South Carolina have been reaching out to those in need.
Main Street United Methodist Church, Dillon was privileged to share in the relief efforts by collecting food, water, and supplies for families in shelters as well as first responders and line crews.   Our youth group is grateful for the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ and has worked cheerfully, without complaint, this past week meeting various needs in the community of Dillon, Lake View, Rowland, Fairmont and Lumberton.
Part of the good that has come from the storm has been to see followers of Christ from different denominations, of diverse ethnicities and from varied backgrounds working hand in hand alongside neighbors and strangers to show our world the matchless love of Christ.  This experience, while humbling for us all, has truly been good for the soul.
