LATTA—In a 5-0 vote, the Latta Town Council affirmed the termination of Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore tonight (Thursday).
Several people were in attendance at the meeting which lasted a little more than two hours. The meeting began and immediately went into executive session to discuss pending litigation. After returning to executive session, the council went through the changes have been working on in regards to the policy manual. This was followed by a lengthy discussion of the changes recommended in the recodification process of the ordinance. A discussion of the Latimer School property was tabled until a future meeting.
The audience endured approximately two hours to get to the next to last item on the agenda which was the vote on the termination of Crystal Moore. The council affirmed the decision to terminate Moore with a 5-0 vote. Voting in favor were Town Administrator/Councilman Jarett Taylor, Councilman Brian Mason, Councilman James Reaves, Mayor Earl Bullard, and Councilman Edward Bethea. Councilman Andy Herring and Councilman Trudy Drawhorn were not present at the meeting.
