The Mount Calvary Brotherhood, WMU, and BYU met on Monday, August 1, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mount Calvary Family Life Center.
After a delicious meal and fellowship, the groups dispersed to the respective areas.
The guest speaker for the Brotherhood was Pastor Joey Nelms of Hamer Church of God.
His text was from Judges Chapter 6 beginning with verse 11. Pastor Nelms stressed the importance of men’s roles in the families as the heads of the households.
He stated emphatically that the world needs Godly men in our sin-sick society.
We should not only be followers of Christ but doers of Christ.
God created men and women. Each man and each woman has a role to play in God’s society.
God has called man to be the spiritual leader of the family.
Older men must be mentors to the younger men. Older men must lead by example.
We must be obedient to God.
Throughout history in the Bible God has used man to be the leader.
To be successful we must be trained in the Lord.
He encouraged everyone to be a man of prayer.
Mount Calvary Baptist Church is located at 405 Mount Calvary Road, Dillon.
