A man was shot and later died at the hospital in Dillon, according to the City of Dillon Police Department.
According to a report by Sgt. Michael Yoder and Cpl. Lorie Tyler of the City of Dillon Police Department, officers were dispatched to 206 North 11th Avenue, Dillon, but before arriving on the scene, Cpl. Tyler was flagged down by the victim on West Main Street. She spoke with the victim and he stated he had been shot. He collapsed to the ground from running from the scene. EMS transported the victim to the hospital.
Officers Cook and Genwright went to 11th Avenue and secured the area where the shooting took place. Investigator James Hayes was called.
The man died at the hospital.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identifies the deceased as Alford Lamont White, a 33-year-old black male, of Dillon.
