A two-vehicle collision on S.C. Highway 917 on March 26, outside of Latta, resulted in a fatality, according to Lance Corporal Judd Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 10:05 p.m., Jones said. According to Jones, a 2005 Chrysler driven by Kristopher Lane, age 38, was traveling east on Highway 917. A 2006 Jeep driven by Stewart Sherman, age 43, was traveling north on Secondary 151. The driver of the Jeep went through the stop sign and struck the Chrysler on the right side. The passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to McLeod, but died from her injuries, according to Jones.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the victim as Krissi Hulon Lane, age 37, Latta,
Jones said Kristopher Lane, who was also wearing a seatbelt, and Sherman were transported to McLeod with non-life-threatening injuries.
Jones said the collision remains under investigation.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FROM COOPER FUNERAL HOME:
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Union Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.
