The Dillon County Boys and Girls Youth Center’s Ruby and Rose Read Aloud Literacy Program visited the K4 students at South Elementary School recently.

The Ruby and Rose Read Aloud Literacy Program read to the students in Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Gray Classes.  The Literacy Program read aloud to the 4K students in the classroom setting, and after a brief discussion of the book, the students got a copy to take home to share with other family members. The program builds personal libraries for children all school year long. The book “A Magical Christmas” was the perfect book for them to read, just in time for the Holiday and Christmas Season.
The Ruby and Rose Read Aloud Literacy Program is sponsored by the Dillon County Boys and Girls Youth Center.
Established in 2013, DCBGYC is a 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Organization. They strive to make a different in the community and this program is our Signature Community Outreach Event.
The Dillon County Boys and Girls Youth Center’s Ruby and Rose Read Aloud Literacy Program visited the schools on a monthly basis during the school season.
The goals for the Ruby and Rose Read Aloud Program is to help children soar in their ability to learn new words and develop a love of reading and engage parents in reading to their children through a Build-At-Home Library Program.
The Youth Center would like to expand the program to all of the 4K and 5K students in the Dillon County area; however, the financial resources to fund this project are limited.  The Youth Center is a Non-Profit Tax Deductible 501(c)3 entity accepting donations/investments to fund this program.  The photos are of the Read Aloud moments at South Elementary School where Dr. Louise Goings is the principal.
