Sergeant Thomas O’Neal IV was the Army Winner of the Pacific Theater Air and Missile Defender of the Year.
Sergeant Thomas Arthur O’Neal IV for the 10th Missile Defense Battery (MDB) and the 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC) C2BMC Sensor Managers section; responsible for Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense in support of United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Northern Command (NORTHCOM), and Pacific Command (PACOM); supports designated Operational Plans, Homeland Defense, and the Ballistic Missile Defense System community from the 613th Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) utilizing C2BMC to remotely control both AN/TPY-2 radars located in Japan. Since arriving to the 10th Missile Defense Battery, in 2012, Sergeant O’Neal serves as the Current Operator; chosen above senior NCOs, for dual radar operations.
He recently achieved the highest individual job score during the FY 2015 Sensor Manager Best Crew Competition for the 10th and 14th Missile Defense Batteries. Sergeant O’Neal has successfully trained subordinates, peers, and those above his own grade in C2BMC and AN/TPY-2 operations. Sergeant O’Neal joined the army in 2010. After receiving his Initial Entry and Advanced Individual Training, he served as the Early Warning Specialist and Crew Chief for the Tactical Control System for Headquarters & Headquarters Battery, 6th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment at Suwon Air Base, South Korea. Sergeant O’Neal completed his Associate of Science in Business Administration, with highest honors, from Colorado Technical University in 2015 and expects to complete his Bachelors by 2016.
Sergeant O’Neal has been married to his wife, Joy, for nine years. They have three children named Brock, age 8; Charlotte, age 6; and Ellie, age 3 1/2.
He is the son of Art and Robin O’Neal.
