Normally in a Tuesday issue, readers would usually find the regular column contributed by Bill Lee. Unfortunately, today we report the sad news that Bill Lee passed away on Sunday.
Mr. Lee was a faithful columnist for The Dillon Herald for the past several years. Through his storytelling and wit, he imparted wisdom about the history of Dillon County, but more about people and human relationships.
He had a love and devotion to Dillon County especially the Hamer area. He was a longtime member of the Dillon County Library Board and was a frequent visitor at nursing homes and the hospital taking flowers to bring cheer to those who stayed there.
He also contributed a scholarship to Dillon Christian School in honor of his parents and his late wife.
Bill Lee will be greatly missed by many in Dillon County and by those whose lives he touched in such a special way.
