A MAN WITH A MESSAGE – Last week, many people spotted a man on horseback heading down Highway 301 North in Dillon. The man was Doc Mishler and his message is to feed the hungry children. Mishler, who is originally from Montana, has been riding across the country to bring attention to this issue. He says that all the children can be fed. He said that as he has traveled across the country, people want to help, but that “institutional churches that depend on affluence and financial security have failed them.” He said religion has become big business. He said in his letter “churches must turn around.” He said he could not make this journey without the help of others. (Photo by Johnnie Daniels/The Dillon Herald)
