Bishop Michael and Dr. Louise Goings, a local couple, were among the people who were honored with the Hometown Hero Award on Saturday, October 10, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
The Hometown Hero Award is presented to deserving people in 30 cities and communities in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. Each recipient of this award is unique in their own way and has made a great impact in their cities and communities.
This event was held at the Crown Coliseum at the 2015 WIDU Radio Anniversary Festival of Praise featuring a star-studded group of gospel singers including Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Fred Hammond, Kim Burrell, and others.
Bishop Michael and Dr. Louise Goings along with other honorees were featured on a giant screen repeatedly and introduced to a capacity audience of over 8000 people at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Bishop and Dr. Goings were presented a plaque two weeks earlier at their church, Outreach Family Fellowship in Dillon, by Mrs. Peggy Tatum, who is the publisher of TCP Magazine and an employee of WIDU Radio Station along with Dr. Darlene German.
