To The Editor:
Someone gave me a copy of an article that was in your paper on September 24, 2015. This article was written by Bishop Michael Goings and is entitled “Rome, America and the Road to Ruin.” I truly enjoyed and was enlightened by his ability to correlate the comparison of Ancient Rome and its decline and fall to the present deterioration of America. As a theological instructor and itinerant preacher, I appreciate clergymen like Bishop Goings, who are both learned and up-to-date on the issues and how they relate to biblical and historical parallels and precedents. Judging from the picture that accompanied the article, I believe that he is the same man that I was fortunate enough to hear some many years ago here in Raleigh. Even back then, he was one of the few I had witnessed in a church setting who could effectively articulate and simplify biblical principles and make them relevant to the here and now. Bishop Goings if you perhaps read this letter that I am sending to the editor of your local paper, I want to thank you for being a servant and gift from God, for so many in both the sacred and secular communities throughout the Carolinas, nation and the world at large. It is my desire that I will be able to sit in one of your seminars, colloquiums or sessions in the not so distant future to hear you lecture and teach and thereby challenge and inspire me as you did many years ago. I hope the people of your community value your ministry as much as I do.
