Sarah Ellen Fowler Cook, wife of Robert H. Cook, departed this life to be with the Lord on October 6, 2015 after an extended illness.
Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Born April 18, 1941 in St. Pauls, NC, she was the daughter of the late James and Tiny Ann Fowler. She was a member, choir member and accomplished singer at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and was the owner of Cook’s Daycare. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert H. Cook of Latta and four children, Sandra (Michael) Roberts, Latta, Robin (Mark) Moore, Dillon, Michael (Kim) Cook Dillon, and Geoffrey Cook, Latta. She was blessed with five grandsons: Phillip Cook, Charleston, Clay Roberts and Matt Roberts, Latta, Seth (Victoria) Cook and Bryson Cook, Dillon, and a precious granddaughter, Madison Moore, Dillon. A recent blessing was the birth of her first great-grandchild, Cooper Cook of Dillon.
In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her sister, Margaret Alford, Floyd Dale, two brothers, Danny Fowler, Latta, and David “Buck” Fowler, Columbia, sister-in-law, Margaret (Eddie) Scott, Dillon, and nieces and nephews: Mark Scott and Crystal (Richard) Fields, Mitzy (Harry) Lewis, Chris (Susan) Alford, Tiny Ann Fowler, Jamie Fowler. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Ann Fowler, Rowland, NC.
The family would like to say a special thanks to her special caregiver, Mrs. Davis, for her compassionate and supportive care over the years. Also to the doctors and nurses of McLeod’s Hospital-Dillon for their supportive and compassionate care during her final hospitalization.
