Harold Carmichael Rogers, age 89, entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2015.  He was born on June 29, 1926 and was the son of Leroy Mitchell and Annie Coy Rogers.
A man of honor and dignity, he grew up working on the family farm where he learned the value of endurance and the place for gratitude in all things.  He was one of the most prominent farmers in his community, and he loved the land with which God had blessed him.  He was a gentle and loving man.  After graduating from Lake View High School, he entered active service in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of World War II.  He served honorably during the crisis that faced our country.  As a decorated Veteran, he returned home and began his studies in Agriculture at Clemson College, now known as Clemson University.  He graduated in 1950 and began his farming career in Fork.  He served as a member of the Lake View School Board of Education and was continuously sought for his sound guidance.  He was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Land Bank.  Mr. Rogers was a devoted member of the Fork Presbyterian Church where he served as a leader of many offices.  He was a Deacon, Elder and Church Trustee.  He was also a lifelong member of the Fork Masonic Lodge where he served in many capacities.  In addition to his livelihood as a farmer, Mr. Rogers was a co-owner of the Rogers Cotton Gin in Fork.  He was a lifelong member of IPTAY and loved bragging on his Clemson Tigers and attending games at Death Valley until his health declined.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth Chamblee “Betty” Rogers; a sister, Marjorie Rogers Middleton, and a brother, L.M. Rogers, Jr.
Surviving Mr. Rogers are his daughters, Anna Elizabeth “Betsy” Artley of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Harriett R. (Edwin) Stephens and Marcia R. Mincey of Mullins; a son, Harold C. “Michael” Rogers of Fork; and a sister, Elaine Rogers Stewart of Spartanburg.  “Pop Pop” will always be loved and greatly missed by his five grandchildren, Tristen Artley of Boston, MA, Margaret Stephens of Sumter, Ed Stephens of Milton, FL, Kensley Mincey of Columbia, and Leeanne Rogers of Fork.
